Jarić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Zupanja area , often Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zupanja area and in Slavonski Brod. In Kom in Knin area every second inhabitant had the family name Jarić.
Prevalence
About 440 people with faimily name Jarić live in Croatia today, in 190 households. There were 600 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 35 cities and 42 other places, mostly in Sikirevci in Zupanja area (100), Zagreb (55), Glogovica in Slavonski Brod area (30), Rijeka (20), and in Slavonski Brod (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
