In Croatia, Jakovljev families are generally Croats (from the Island of Pasman ), very rarely Serbs, and barely Russians (from Pula ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zadar and on the Island of Pasman.
Prevalence
About 70 people with faimily name Jakovljev live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 50 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 12 cities and four other places, mostly in Tkon on the Island of Pasman (30), Biograd na moru (<10), Zagreb (<10), Koprivnica (<5), and in Krizevci (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
