Jagunić families are Croats and they are mostly from Jastrebarsko. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Jastrebarsko and Zagreb. In Prilipje in Jastrebarsko every sixth inhabitant had the family name Jagunić.
Prevalence
About 130 people with faimily name Jagunić live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties, in 8 cities and 11 other places, mostly in Zagreb (40), Prilipje (40), Gornja Reka (<10), Zajacko Selo (<10), and in Bestovje in Samobor area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
