Ivković families are frequently Croats and they are mostly from Zadar area (Skabrnja). According to some sources they are from Cirkovljani in Medjimurje, Sinj or from Bosne, and rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Western Bosnia (Livno area) and in Zagreb. In Zagoričani in Western Bosnia every fourth inhabitant had the family name Ivković.
Prevalence
About 2200 people with faimily name Ivković live in Croatia today, in 990 households. There were 1900 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in all Croatian counties, in 78 cities and 204 other places, mostly in Zagreb (390), Zadar (150), Brnaze (130), Skabrnja in Biograd na moru area (130), and in Split (110).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over forty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
