Ivančević families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Ivanec area , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Rama, Bosnia (Prozor area). In Davidovići in Middle Bosnia every sixth inhabitant had the family name Ivančević.
Prevalence
About 1100 people with faimily name Ivančević live in Croatia today, in 470 households. There were 1100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 61 cities and 111 other places, mostly in Zagreb (140), Split (120), Rijeka (50), Vinkovci (30), and in Osijek (30).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over fifty times, the first time 1750 in source 18th Century Census.
