Ivanko families are Croats and they are mostly from Rama (north Herzegovina), Bosnia. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rama, Bosnia (Prozor area) and in Imotski area. In places Ivanci , Ljubunci and Pajići in Rama (Bosnia) every fifth inhabitant had the family name Ivanko.
Prevalence
About 370 people with faimily name Ivanko live in Croatia today, in 130 households. There were 180 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 27 cities and 29 other places, mostly in Zagreb (70), Ivankovo in Vinkovci area (70), Pozega (30), Donji Prolozac in Imotski area (30), and in Donja Bistra in Oroslavje area (20).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
