In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanski Novi area) and in Nasice. In Donji Agići in Bosanian Posavina every eighth inhabitant had the family name Ilišin.

About 110 people with faimily name Ilišin live in Croatia today, in 30 households. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 8 cities and 14 other places, mostly in Djurdjenovac in Nasice area (20), Nasice (15), Lipovljani in Novska area (15), Osijek (<10), and in Velimirovac (<10).
