Ilibašić families are mainly Serbs and they are mostly from Donji Miholjac area , whereas often Croats (from Pleternica area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Osijek and in Hrvatska Kostajnica area. In Draškovac in Hrvatska Kostajnica area every third inhabitant had the family name Ilibašić.
Prevalence
About 120 people with faimily name Ilibašić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 230 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 13 cities and 18 other places, mostly in Osijek (25), Tenja (20), Zagreb (15), Draskovac in Hrvatska Kostajnica area (10), and in Malinska on the Island of Krk (<10).

Family name Ilibašić is present in two countries on two continents. The family name "Ilibasic " is used by small number of people in the United States.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
