Husić families can be both Croats (the family name originates from Cazinska Krajina Region , Bosnia) and Bosniaks (iz Tuzla Region, Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Velika Kladusa area) and in Zagreb. In Repino Brdo in Bosanian Posavina every second inhabitant had the family name Husić.
Prevalence
About 310 people with faimily name Husić live in Croatia today, in 130 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 44 cities and 48 other places, mostly in Zagreb (110), Sesvete (45), Pula (20), Omisalj on the Island of Krk (20), and in Skrljevo (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1942 in source Phone Directory of the Independent State of Croatia 1942.
