Hrkač families are Croats and they are mostly from Ludbreg area. According to some sources they are from Siroki Brijeg (Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Doboj, Bosnia (Doboj area) and in Slavonski Brod. In Prisade in Doboj area, BiH every eighth inhabitant had the family name Hrkač.
