In Croatia, Horjan families are almost entirely Croats (from Donja Stubica ), barely Bosniaks (from Zagreb ), and . In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Djakovo. In Hižakovec in Donja Stubica every tenth inhabitant had the family name Horjan.
Prevalence
About 70 people with faimily name Horjan live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located and two other Croatian places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Djakovo (25), Hizakovec (10), Split (<5), and in Lepa Ves (<5).
