In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born on the Island of Brac and in Cazins Region, Bosnia (Bihac area). In Čaklovići Donji in Tuzla Region (Bosnia) every third inhabitant had the family name Haračić.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Haračić live in Croatia today, in 19 households. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 13 cities and 5 other places, mostly in Rijeka (10), Zagreb (<10), Buzet (<10), Hvar on the Island of Hvar (<5), and in Postira on the Island of Brac (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 2007 in source Encyclopaedia of Croatian Surnames.
