In Croatia, Harar families are mainly Croats (from Bjelovar ), less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bjelovar and in Djurdjevac area.
Prevalence
Only a few people with faimily name Harar live in Croatia today, in three households only. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in only four naselja i to in Pula (<5), Bjelovar (<5), Velika Cresnjevica in Djurdjevac area (<5), and in Zagreb (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
