Hanić families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from Djurdjevac area , less frequently Bosniaks (from Bosnian Posavina ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Djurdjevac area and in Zagreb.
Prevalence
About 160 people with faimily name Hanić live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 120 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 14 cities and 24 other places, mostly in Zagreb (45), Pitomaca in Djurdjevac area (20), Virovitica (15), Pula (<10), and in Sesvete (<10).
