Haman families are Croats and they are mostly from Krizevci area. According to some sources they are from Ivanic Grad area (Posavski Bregi). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Krizevci area. In Bogačevo in Krizevci area every seventh inhabitant had the family name Haman.
Prevalence
About 60 people with faimily name Haman live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 6 cities and 12 other places, mostly in Zagreb (10), Krizevci (<10), Ivanic-Grad (<10), Ivanska in Bjelovar area (<10), and in Obrez Kalnicki in Varazdinske Toplice area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1932 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
