Gučić families are Croats and they are mostly from Velika Gorica. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Velika Gorica and Pleternica. In Bzenica in Pleternica every fifth inhabitant had the family name Gučić.
Prevalence
About 60 people with faimily name Gučić live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 120 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 7 cities and 9 other places, mostly in Poljana Cicka (10), Novo Cice (10), Bzenica (<10), Zagreb (<10), and in Mali Ston on the Peljesac peninsula (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
