Gulić families are frequently Croats and they are mostly from Oroslavje area. According to some sources they are from Slovenia, rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Sinj and Benkovac. In Zapužane in Benkovac every third inhabitant had the family name Gulić.
Prevalence
About 600 people with faimily name Gulić live in Croatia today, in 270 households. There were 630 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 31 cities and 35 other places, mostly in Donja Bistra in Oroslavje area (80), Glavice (70), Zagreb (50), Gljev (50), and in Supetarska Draga on the Island of Rab (50).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 2007 in source Encyclopaedia of Croatian Surnames.
