Gudić families are Croats and they are mostly from Sinj area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and in Sinj area. In Donje Postinje in Sinj area every third inhabitant had the family name Gudić.
Prevalence
About 310 people with faimily name Gudić live in Croatia today, in 130 households. There were 310 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 17 cities and 29 other places, mostly in Split (165), Zagreb (20), Dijankovec (15), Petrinja (10), and in Povelic (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
