Grubiša families are Croats and they are mostly from Pazin. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Pula. In Bertoši in Pazin every ninth inhabitant had the family name Grubiša.
Prevalence
About 330 people with faimily name Grubiša live in Croatia today, in 120 households. There were 310 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 10 percent. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 22 cities and 28 other places, mostly in Rijeka (50), Pazin (35), Jesenice in Omis area (35), Sinj (30), and in Podstrana in Solin area (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
