Grošić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Koprivnica , often Bosniaks (from Cazinska Krajina Region, Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Koprivnica and Zagreb. In Potkalinje in Cazins Region (Bosnia) every third inhabitant had the family name Grošić.
Prevalence
About 130 people with faimily name Grošić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 90 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 40 percent. They are located in 9 Croatian counties, in 12 cities and 9 other places, mostly in Zagreb (50), Koprivnica (20), Sisak (15), Rijeka (<10), and in Slavonski Brod (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
