Grah families are Croats and they are mostly from Zabok. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zabok and Zagreb. In places Prosenik Gubaševski and Gubaševo in Zabok every fifth inhabitant had the family name Grah.
Prevalence
About 170 people with faimily name Grah live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 200 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 9 cities and 17 other places, mostly in Zagreb (35), Prosenik Gubasevski (20), Cerovlje in Pazin area (15), Zagorska Sela in Klanjec area (10), and in Pula (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
