Gojun families are Croats and they are mostly from Sinj area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Sinj area and in Split. In Ugljane in Sinj area every twentieth inhabitant had the family name Gojun.
Prevalence
About 90 people with faimily name Gojun live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 70 percent. They are only located in in 9 Croatian cities and two other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Ugljane in Sinj area (20), Split (20), Drvenik in Ploce area (<10), and in Kastel Sucurac (<10).
Outside Croatia
At least two families with this surname emigrated from Croatia to Germany (1) and the United States (1). Family name Gojun (including: Gayun , Ghalyoun , Galyun , Gajun and Goyun ) is present in 22 countries worldwide.
