Goić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Brac , rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and Zadar.
Prevalence
About 160 people with faimily name Goić live in Croatia today, in 70 households. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 11 cities and 13 other places, mostly in Praznica on the Island of Brac (55), Zadar (35), Split (25), Jelsa on the Island of Hvar (10), and in Zagreb (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1931 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
