Gazibara families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Solin area , often Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Duga Resa area. In Ponorac in Duga Resa area every third inhabitant had the family name Gazibara.
Prevalence
About 150 people with faimily name Gazibara live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 270 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 50 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 23 cities and 17 other places, mostly in Zagreb (30), Klis in Solin area (20), Ponorac in Duga Resa area (15), Split (<10), and in Vinkovci (<10).

Family name Gazibara is present in 9 countries on two continents. The family name "Gazibara " is used by some 60 people in the United States , small number in Canada , and small number of people in Romania.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
