About 60 people with faimily name Galir live in Croatia today, in 20 households. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 9 cities and 7 other places, mostly in Cepin in Osijek area (20), Zagreb (10), Bjelovar (10), Sesvete (<10), and in Tenja (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
