Galijan families are Croats and they are mostly from Petrinja. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Petrinja and Glina. In Vurot in Sisak every second inhabitant had the family name Galijan.
Prevalence
About 90 people with faimily name Galijan live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 110 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in threee Croatian counties, four cities and 10 other places, mostly in Zagreb (25), Petrinja (25), Graberje (20), Vurot (10), and in Sisak (<10).
