Fučkar families are Croats and they are mostly from Krapina area. According to some sources they are from Ludbrega. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and in Krapina area. In Viča Sela in Krapina area every fourth inhabitant had the family name Fučkar.
Prevalence
About 310 people with faimily name Fučkar live in Croatia today, in 140 households. There were 360 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 10 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 25 cities and 33 other places, mostly in Zagreb (110), Krapinske Toplice in Krapina area (30), Virovitica (20), Vica Sela in Krapina area (20), and in Belisce (10).
Outside Croatia
Family name Fučkar is present in three countries on two continents. The family name "Fuckar " is used by few people in Sweden and few people in the United States.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over twenty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
