Frajt families are Croats and they are mostly from Djurdjevac area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Koprivnica and Zagreb. In Križevčec in Sveti Ivan Zelina every sixth inhabitant had the family name Frajt.
Prevalence
About 70 people with faimily name Frajt live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 130 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number halved. They are only located in in 6 Croatian cities and 8 other places, mostly in Virje in Djurdjevac area (15), Osijek (15), Zagreb (<10), Sveta Helena (<10), and in Vuka in Djakovo area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
