Folo families are Croats and they are mostly from Pula. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Pula and Rovinj. In Foli in Labin area every eighth inhabitant had the family name Folo.
Prevalence
About 110 people with faimily name Folo live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in two Croatian counties and 11 other places, mostly in Rovinj (35), Tomisici in Pazin area (25), Foli in Labin area (10), and in Zminj (10) and Gradisce (<10) in Pazin area.
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1917 in source List of Dignitaries, Officials and Public Servants of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia.
