In Croatia, Foki families are Hungarians by relative majority (from Beli Manastir area ), less frequently Croats (from Beli Manastir area ), and very rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Osijek and in Beli Manastir area. In Zmajevac in Beli Manastir area every eightieth inhabitant had the family name Foki.
Prevalence
About 30 people with faimily name Foki live in Croatia today, in 13 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 50 percent. They are located in threee Croatian counties, threee cities and 7 other places, mostly in Knezevo (<10) and Zmajevac (<10) in Beli Manastir area, Osijek (<10), Batina in Beli Manastir area (<10), and in Zagreb (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1928 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
