In Croatia, Filippi families are almost entirely Croats (from Dubrovnik ), very rarely Italians (from Labin ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Dubrovnik and Labin.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Filippi live in Croatia today, in 19 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 30 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties and 5 other places, mostly in Dubrovnik (10), Mokosica (<10), Zagreb (<10), Labin (<5), and in Korcula on the Island of Korcula (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over a hundred times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
