In Croatia, Fidler families are generally Croats (from Middle Bosnia ), very rarely Germans (from Daruvar area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Zenica area) and in Daruvar area. In Blagorodovac in Daruvar area every sixtieth inhabitant had the family name Fidler.
Prevalence
About 20 people with faimily name Fidler live in Croatia today, in 8 households. There were 20 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in two Croatian counties, four cities and threee other places, mostly in Zagreb (<10), Mimice (<5), Trogir (<5), Slatine (<5), and in Vrisnik on the Island of Hvar (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
