Farčić families are Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Korcula. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and on the Island of Korcula. In Podobuče on Peljesac Peninsula every fourth inhabitant had the family name Farčić.
Prevalence
About 130 people with faimily name Farčić live in Croatia today, in 60 households. There were 70 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 100 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, in 8 cities and 10 other places, mostly in Blato (35) and Vela Luka (30) on the Island of Korcula, Dubrovnik (15), Osijek (10), and in Split (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over fifty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
