Eđed families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Pleternica area , but often Hungarians (from Osijek area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Osijek and in Osijek area.
Prevalence
About 90 people with faimily name Eđed live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 50 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 90 percent. They are located in 6 Croatian counties, threee cities and 14 other places, mostly in Laslovo in Osijek area (30), Osijek (20), Bilje in Osijek area (20), Ivankovo in Vinkovci area (<10), and in Zagreb (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 2007 in source Encyclopaedia of Croatian Surnames.
