Džebić families are frequently Croats and they are mostly from Nova Gradiska area , rarely Serbs and Bosniaks. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanski Samac area) and in Bosanian Posavina (Orasje area).
Prevalence
About 110 people with faimily name Džebić live in Croatia today, in 50 households. There were 70 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 60 percent. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 21 cities and 18 other places, mostly in Zagreb (15), Zupanja (10), Babina Greda in Zupanja area (10), Kaptol in Pozega area (10), and in Slavonski Samac in Zupanja area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
