In Croatia, Duća families are Croats (from Knin area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Knin area and on the Island of Brac.
Prevalence
About 10 people with faimily name Duća live in Croatia today, in five households only. There were 10 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are only located in four Croatian cities and threee other places, mostly in Rijeka (<5), Petrinja (<5), Senkovec in Zapresic area (<5), Drnek in Ivanic-Grad area (<5), and in Varazdin (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
