Duić families are Croats and they are mostly from Gospic (Pazariste). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Gospic. In Vranovine in Gospic every third inhabitant had the family name Duić.
Prevalence
About 380 people with faimily name Duić live in Croatia today, in 190 households. There were 480 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 37 cities and 40 other places, mostly in Zagreb (145), Split (15), Sesvete (15), Karlovac (15), and in Gospic (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1705 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
