Surname Duga in modern Croatia

In Croatia, Duga families are almost entirely Croats (from Djurdjevac area ), very rarely Slovenes (also from Djurdjevac area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Djurdjevac area and in Koprivnica.

Prevalence

About 30 people with faimily name Duga live in Croatia today, in 11 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent.
They are located in only five naselja i to in Novigrad Podravski in Djurdjevac area (20), Zagreb (<10), Ivanic-Grad (<5), Virje in Djurdjevac area (<5), and in Prigorje Brdovecko in Zapresic area (<5).

Outside Croatia

"Dhuga " is used by some 70 people in Canada and small number in the United States. "Dhugga " is used by some 100 people in Canada and about 50 in the United States.
