Dražić families are often Croats and they are mostly from Trogir area , while other sources say they originate from the Island of Ugljan, rarely Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zadar and Zagreb. In Sitno in Trogir area every fourth inhabitant had the family name Dražić.
Prevalence
About 1000 people with faimily name Dražić live in Croatia today, in 440 households. There were 990 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 61 cities and 102 other places, mostly in Zagreb (120), Split (105), Zadar (75), Debeljak in Zadar area (55), and in Rijeka (30).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over forty times, the first time 1691 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
