Domijan families are Croats and they are mostly from Crikvenica. According to some sources they are from Vinodolaarea. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Rijeka and Crikvenica. In Dramalj in Crikvenica every sixth inhabitant had the family name Domijan.
Prevalence
About 350 people with faimily name Domijan live in Croatia today, in 170 households. There were 160 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 27 cities and 20 other places, mostly in Dramalj (100), Zagreb (70), Crikvenica (65), Rijeka (45), and in Kraljevica (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1928 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
