In Croatia, Domac families are Croats (from Zadar area ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Osijek.
Prevalence
About 40 people with faimily name Domac live in Croatia today, in 15 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 30 percent. They are located in four Croatian counties, threee cities and two other places, mostly in Privlaka (30), Zagreb (10), Mali Losinj on the Island of Losinj (<5), Osijek (<5), and in Gorjani in Djakovo area (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over ten times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
