In Croatia, Dobronić families are Croats (from the Island of Brac ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Split and on the Island of Brac. In Rogoznica in Trogir area every sixtieth inhabitant had the family name Dobronić.
Prevalence
About 50 people with faimily name Dobronić live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 60 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are only located in in 6 Croatian cities and threee other places, mostly in Split (25), Pucisca on the Island of Brac (10), Zagreb (10), Bestovje in Samobor area (<5), and in Jelsa on the Island of Hvar (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1606 in source Catholic Church Parish Records.
