Djukić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from middle Bosnia , often Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanski Samac area) and in Middle Bosnia (Skender Vakuf area). In Đukići in Bosnian Krajina every second inhabitant had the family name Djukić.
Prevalence
About 60 people with faimily name Djukić live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number doubled. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 26 cities and 27 other places, mostly in Zagreb (15), Delnice (<10), Rijeka (<10), Batinjani in Daruvar area (<10), and in Porec (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1942 in source Phone Directory of the Independent State of Croatia 1942.
