Djedović families are frequently Croats and they are mostly from Bosnian Posavina , less frequently Bosniaks (from east Herzegovina). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Brcko area) and in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanski Samac area). In Donji Lukavac in East Herzegovina every fifth inhabitant had the family name Djedović.
Prevalence
About 190 people with faimily name Djedović live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 30 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 25 cities and 30 other places, mostly in Zagreb (35), Otok in Vinkovci area (15), Gunja in Zupanja area (15), Vinkovci (10), and in Kopcevec (10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned few times, the first time 1936 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
