Djaković families are predominantly Croats and they are mostly from middle Bosnia , less frequently Serbs. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Middle Bosnia (Vares area) and in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanska Gradiska area). In Borovica Gornja in Middle Bosnia every ninth inhabitant had the family name Djaković.
Prevalence
About 370 people with faimily name Djaković live in Croatia today, in 190 households. There were 610 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 40 percent. They are located in almost all Croatian counties, in 38 cities and 52 other places, mostly in Zagreb (105), Slavonski Brod (30), Babina Greda in Zupanja area (20), Dubrovnik (15), and in Vrbnik in Knin area (15).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over thirty times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
