Dilber families are Croats and they are mostly from Banja Luka area (Bosnia). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Western Bosnia (Tomislavgrad area) and in Middle Bosnia (Zenica area). In Seoca in Podrinje (Bosnia) nearly every inhabitant had the family name Dilber.
Prevalence
About 320 people with faimily name Dilber live in Croatia today, in 130 households. There were 40 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number multiplied. They are located in the most of Croatian counties, in 35 cities and 36 other places, mostly in Zagreb (45), Split (45), Djakovo (35), Zadar (30), and in Knin (30).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1930 in source Emigration Commission Zagreb.
