Dedović families are frequently Croats and they are mostly from Peljesac Peninsula , less frequently Bosniaks (from Bosnian Krajina ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Zagreb and Dubrovnik. In Lađevci in Bosnian Krajina every fifth inhabitant had the family name Dedović.
Prevalence
About 80 people with faimily name Dedović live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 100 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number decreased by 20 percent. They are located in 7 Croatian counties, in 6 cities and 10 other places, mostly in Zagreb (35), Dubrovnik (20), Mokosica (<10), Mlini in Dubrovnik area (<10), and in Rijeka (<5).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1902 in source Hartmann's General List of Apartments in Zagreb.
