Ded families are Croats and they are mostly from Lepoglava area. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Lepoglava area and in Zabok. In Paulovac in Bjelovar area every ninth inhabitant had the family name Ded.

Prevalence

About 80 people with faimily name Ded live in Croatia today, in 40 households. There were 80 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant.
They are only located in four Croatian cities and 14 other places, mostly in Bedekovcina in Lepoglava area (30), Zagreb (10), Obedisce in Ivanic-Grad area (<10), Lug Poznanovecki in Lepoglava area (<5), and in Cirkvena in Krizevci area (<5).

Family name Ded (including: Deed , Dedd , Dhedh , Dedh and Dhed ) is present in 64 countries worldwide. "Deed " is used by some 500 people in Myanmar , about 300 in Australia , and some 200 people in the United States.
