Daić families are mainly Croats and they are mostly from Cazma area , also Serbs and Bosniaks (from Bosnian Posavina ). In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Bosanian Posavina (Bosanska Gradiska area) and in Cazma area. In Šimljanik in Cazma area every tenth inhabitant had the family name Daić.
Prevalence
About 70 people with faimily name Daić live in Croatia today, in 30 households. There were 70 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number remains constant. They are located in 10 Croatian counties, in 10 cities and 8 other places, mostly in Orubica in Nova Gradiska area (15), Jezerce in Otocac area (10), Zagreb (<10), Pula (<10), and in Plitvicka Jezera in Otocac area (<10).
In the sources analysed in the project Acta Croatica so far, the name is mentioned over five times, the first time 1906 in source Yearbook and Directory of Literary Society of St. Jerome 1906.
