Dabelić families are Croats and they are mostly from the Island of Mljet. In the past century, relatively most of Croatian residents bearing this family name were born in Dubrovnik and on the Island of Mljet. In Babino Polje on the Island of Mljet every seventh inhabitant had the family name Dabelić.
Prevalence
About 160 people with faimily name Dabelić live in Croatia today, in 70 households. There were 140 of them in the middle of the past century, and their number increased by 20 percent. They are located in 8 Croatian counties, in 10 cities and 15 other places, mostly in Polace on the Island of Mljet (35), Dubrovnik (35), Babino Polje on the Island of Mljet (20), Zagreb (20), and in Mokosica (10).
